Title: Mithila & Madhubani Traditions
Medium: Acrylic (Done using references)
These works are inspired by the art of the Mithila region in Bihar, known for vibrant colors and the absence of empty space.
This series captures the essence of Madhubani art. The subject ranges from stylized deities like Radha-Krishna to symbolic fish and lotus motifs. These are done with high-contrast acrylics. Following the style of art of Mithila or Madhubani, the figures or the borders are completed with line work.
These pieces use the large, expressive eyes and sharp features characteristic of Mithila art to portray divine love. They serve as versatile decor pieces that bring a touch of heritage to modern walls.
